Julie Chacko-Lee

My vision is to
become a person who is embedded in the Word of God, be transformed by
it and who accurately handles the word of truth.
My calling is to be a preacher/teacher of the Word of God for the
purpose of equipping the saints in the knowledge of that Word for
personal growth and evangelization.
I have the great privilege of being born and raised in a Christian home
by godly parents whose faith life was an example to me. They taught me
how to pray, to read the Bible, and the importance of being part of the
Body of Christ. Their open declaration of faith in Jesus and their
undying devotion to Him helped me to make Him my Saviour as well. I
thank God for my parents.
I felt called into full-time Christian ministry at the tender age of
fifteen. But it wasn’t till I was in my mid-twenties that I was
finally able to fulfil this calling. Meanwhile I was a teacher in a
Primary School for five years before the door opened for me to go and
get trained in Christian work. In July 1994 I went into Trinity
Theological College where I spent four of the best years of my life
learning about the Lord and about my Christian faith. For the first
time in my life, I felt grounded in my faith, felt a total sense of
rightness in what I was doing and had clarity about my life’s
purpose. I graduated from TTC in May 1998 with a degree in Bachelor of
Divinity, after which I joined Church of the Ascension as a Parish
Worker.
I am presently the parish staff in charge of the Membership Class,
which includes teaching as well as administrative duties. I am also the
coordinator for the Alpha Course. I serve in the Christian Education
committee as the administrator and have currently been appointed
superintendent of the Sunday School, both Junior and Senior. I do
devotion with the SAJS boys at the Day Boarders on a weekly basis. I am
also rostered to preach regularly and serve as an officiant at the
Sunday services.
